I’m a Dominican-born, Bushwick-raised artist. As a poet, playwright, educator, actor, producer, and director my work exists in and explores the intersections of identity, language, mediums, cultures, and communities found in my personal life and beyond.

Taxilandia

Originally created and written by Modesto “Flako” Jimenez, TAXILANDIA immerses its audience in the flavors, sounds, sights and dynamic history of a neighborhood confronting social stigmas and the realities of gentrification.

This multidisciplinary art experience inspired by Modesto “Flako” Jimenez’s grandmother, Mercedes, deals with our relationship to aging, dementia, and inherited trauma through a stage play, VR experience, “healing rooms,” art therapy workshops, and a documentary.
